What is a Rhinologist

What is a Rhinologist?
A Rhinologist is a board-certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat physician) who subspecializes
in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses, as
well as disorders of the skull base and orbit. After completing their otolaryngology residency
training, Rhinologists pursue and complete specialized expert fellowship training in the
management of sinus and nasal disorders. They are experts in endoscopic sinus surgery.
Rhinologists may treat patients medically and/or surgically depending on the nature of the
disease process. While patients are commonly referred to Rhinologists by primary care
physicians, they are also commonly consulted by fellow ENT physicians, Neurosurgeons, and
Ophthalmologists.
